Prasiolite, is also a green quartz. This gem has also been called Green Amethyst though it is actually Prasiolite - Green Quartz.  Would make a gorgeous Ring or Pendant  Dark spots in the picture are not in the gemstone, just relfections of the camera lens.  No darkness in this gem only sparkles.

Prasiolite or vermarine is a green-colored form of quartz, usually produced by artificially heat-treating amethyst. Since 1950, almost all has come from one small mine in Brazil.

Prasiolite (or praziolite) is a light to medium green variety of quartz. It gets its name from the Greek words "prason" meaning "leek" (the vegetable of this color) and "lithos" meaning "stone." It is sometimes mistaken for peridot or green tourmaline and often referred to as GREEN AMETHYST. It is found, in increasingly smaller quantities, in Brazil and the U.S. (Arizona). It ranks a durable 7 on Mohs' hardness scale.
