Akoya Pearls
Akoya Pearls are alluring gems from nature, our gifts from the sea. These fine Pearls were made famous by "Mikimoto" he was the gentleman who is famous for perfecting pearl culturing techniques.
Akoya pearls are grown and born from the Pinctada Fucata Martensii oyster. These 3-4 inch oysters can grow up to 5 Pearls each.
Color and luster are always bright, majority of the Pearls are round. Colors range from cream to blue. The best quality Pearls are enhanced, dyed white and black. Akoya Pearls are farmed in salt water in Japan and China.
